Pashm forms part of a series of five paintings inspired by perfumes sourced from around the world. Each work translates scent into colour, texture, and atmosphere.
This piece takes inspiration from Pashm by Hima Jomo, a fragrance shaped by the landscapes of the Himalayas. The painting draws from a world of altitude, softness, and stark contrast. Blue marks move across the surface like ridgelines seen through mist, their horizontal rhythm echoing layers of distant terrain. The bare canvas brings warmth while also recalling icy mountain peaks, a quiet meeting of warmth and cold, softness and strength.
The brushstrokes drift like fabric folds caught in air, recalling the ancient weaving traditions of the Himalayas, where craft, landscape, and touch are deeply connected. The palette mirrors the perfume’s balance of texture and tone: soft beige reflects the warmth of cardamom and amber, while cool blue gestures toward the crisp air and mineral freshness of the mountains.
